Course Selection

It is time to choose your elective courses for the fall semester 2026.
Depending on which programme you attend you should chose elective course credits as stated below in addition to the course Research Methods, which is obligatory.

Master's Programme in Sociology – 22.5 Credits (hp)
Master's Programme in Applied Social Research – 22.5 Credits (hp)
Multidisciplinary Master's Programme in Demography – 22.5 Credits (hp)

It is important that you look at the programme structure to make sure that you choose courses that will fit in to the empty slots.
Students enrolled in the Master's Programme in Sociology have an opportunity to take the course Social Network Analysis, which is a compulsory course if they have not taken Social Stratification during the spring term For information about the course layout, please see the relevant webpage for each programme.

You have until April 15 to submit your choice

Note that some courses span over two periods.
The courses that span over two periods run at half time. The rest of the courses run at full time, and it is inadvisable to read two full time courses simultaneously.

If you have any questions, please email master@sociology.su.se
